Production Manager (night shift)

Description:

The Production Manager manages all production related processes, exercises supervision of shifts supervisory staff and provides guidance for both departmental and individual development.  Additionally, the production manager will research and lead process improvement projects.

Duties:

  1. Effectively manage company resources to maximize achievement of company and plant goals in all areas (financial, customer service, innovation, learning) while maintaining strong working relationships with USDA.
  2. Actively work to develop staff for the purpose of enhancing their effectiveness in daily operations as well as to prepare them for future opportunities within the organization.
  3. Participate in projects to ensure that they are progressing.
  4. Conduct weekly supervisor meetings to provide feedback
  5. Develop and implement goals and objectives and budgets.
  6. Communicate with USDA on issues related to Gold'n Plump.
  7. Administer company policies and procedures fairly and equitably to maintain standards established for safety, quality and overall company personnel satisfaction.
  8. Investigate quality improvement methods
  9. Maintain working relationship with support staff
  10. Prepare and administer evaluations for employees. 
  11. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so tat you work effectively and cooperatively with customers, clients, coworkers, and leadership teams.
  12. Participates in process improvement and problem solving utilizing continuous improvement and rational thinking methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and participates in or supports the E$P program.

Qualifications:

  • Strong working knowledge of poultry production processing techniques and methods.
  • A Bachelor's degree or comparable experience in management or a related field
  • Excellent managerial skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong ability to analyze and resolve complex management problems
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent conflict management and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work with others to identify and capitalize on opportunities that result in successful implementation of changes for the benefit of the business.
